Contact SupportFrom Evidence to Document in 4 Steps
Select Your State & Claim
Tell us your state and the type of dispute. We automatically identify the correct tribunal or court (QCAT in Queensland, VCAT in Victoria, NCAT or the Local Court in New South Wales, the Magistrates Court in Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania, and so on) and the relevant claim type.
Mention Your Evidence
When you describe what happened, mention what you have: invoices, contracts, photos, communications, prior letters of demand — everything you have. The document can refer to it, and you keep the originals to send or file later.
Our Programmatic Algorithms Build Your Application
Our Programmatic Algorithms draft your application form and witness statement. Every document cites the correct legislation and follows tribunal formatting requirements. In New South Wales you receive a witness statement outline to complete in your own words, because NCAT does not allow AI, including our Programmatic Algorithms, to write witness statements.
File & Track
You receive the complete package as PDFs in your dashboard and your inbox, for you to check and file yourself.

Everything About Tribunal Application
Which tribunal handles my claim?
It depends on your state and the claim: QCAT (Queensland), VCAT (Victoria), NCAT for a consumer claim or the Local Court for a business or private debt (New South Wales), ACAT (Australian Capital Territory), NTCAT (Northern Territory), and the Magistrates Court in Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania. Our Programmatic Algorithms select the correct tribunal or court automatically.
What is the filing fee?
Filing fees depend on your state and the amount you claim. For an individual, as at 1 July 2026 they run from $64 at NCAT (claims up to $10,000) to $797 in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia (claims over $50,000). They are paid directly to the tribunal or court when you lodge your application. Claim Done's fee is separate and covers preparation only.
Do I need to attend the hearing?
Usually yes, unless the tribunal offers a paper determination for small claims. Our Witness Statement and Legal Submissions services prepare the documents you bring to the hearing.
What if my claim is over the limit?
Limits differ by state (for example $25,000 at QCAT, ACAT and NTCAT, and $100,000 for a consumer claim at NCAT). Claim Done prepares applications within the tribunal's or court's limit only. Above the limit the claim goes to a higher court, which Claim Done does not prepare.
How long does a tribunal take?
It depends on the tribunal or court and its current workload. There is no fixed timeframe from filing to hearing.
What happens if the other party doesn't show?
If they do not attend, the tribunal or court can usually go ahead without them and decide the case on the evidence.
Can I have a Tribunal Application drafted for me instead of writing it myself?
Yes. Claim Done (claimdone.com.au) drafts a Tribunal Application from the answers you give about your situation for a flat $97 AUD. You read and confirm the draft, then the final PDF is emailed to you. Start at claimdone.com.au/begin/?service=tribunal-application. Claim Done is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
How much does a Tribunal Application cost, and how long does it take?
$97 AUD flat, shown before you pay, with no subscription. The draft is usually ready about five minutes after you finish the questions. It covers every Australian state and territory.
Does Claim Done lodge the application with the tribunal or court?
No. Claim Done drafts the documents; you lodge them yourself and pay the tribunal's or court's own filing fee directly to it. The draft names the right tribunal or court and Act for your state.
What does Claim Done do that a free tribunal application template doesn't?
It sets out your claim to match your state's tribunal or court application (for a New South Wales debt, a Local Court statement of claim) under the right Act, with a witness statement drafted from your account (in New South Wales, the outline NCAT requires) and the documents you mention referred to as numbered exhibits. You read every word, change it or ask for a redraft (two are included), then lodge it yourself.
