Common questions

What is the difference between submissions and a witness statement?A witness statement records what you personally saw and experienced — facts. Submissions argue the legal interpretation of those facts — why the law entitles you to the remedy you are seeking. Ideally you have both.

Do all tribunals accept written submissions? Most Australian tribunals accept written submissions, especially for complex disputes. Some may require oral submissions only for minor claims. Your tribunal's website sets out its own practice.

Can your Programmatic Algorithms cite cases that apply to my specific situation?Yes. They cite the legislation for your dispute type and state. They are instructed to cite a case only where they are sure the case is a real Australian decision on point, and otherwise to rely on the legislation alone. Citations are not checked against a legal database, so read each one before you approve your submissions.
